The children were honored for their hard work in the closing Honor Council Ceremony in June. A new CYC year will begin as soon as the summer break is over, we look foward to seeing this past year's advancing youth return as well as new boys and girls coming to join in the learning and fun.

CYC is a Christian Scouting program for children ages 3 through 6th grades. Age level Squads meet weekly on Thursday evenings from 6 to 7 PM where they participate in activities designed to assist them in growing mentally, physically, socially and spiritually. Various hikes, an end of the year campout, field trips and other fun activities are integral parts of the program.

Bible Night is where CYC'ers have the opportunity to grow spiritually. Pastor Mike tells a Bible story, usually interactive, where the children learn a life-truth that helps them in their daily lives at school and at home with their families.

Party Night is where CYC'ers have the opportunity to grow socially. Children participate in games and activities where children learn to take turns, be good losers and good winners and learn new game skills.

Missions Night is where CYC'ers have the opportunity to grow mentally. Ms. Mary McPherson teaches about a new country each month. Children learn about the customs, language and geography of the country and even sample food, songs and stories. They also learn about the work of the Wesleyan Church in these countries.

Craft Night is where CYC'ers have the opportunity to grow physically. Ms. Jennifer Stanfield teaches a craft skill where children create something new to take home. They weave, cut, paste, draw, sew or perform other actions which are challenging and assist with motor skills, while providing a nice take-home project at the same time.
