LOOKING AHEAD:

All-Church Thanksgiving Celebration will be held on Sunday, November 23 at 2:30 PM at the American Legion Building on Prairie and Rosecrans in Hawthorne.  Sign-up sheets for things to bring are available in the back of the Church.  We will enjoy a turkey dinner with all the trimmings. You are asked to bring items for a Silent Auction and to bake items for a fund-raiser by the Wesleyan Women for our Missions program.  This is the time of year when the entire Church Family can be together, so put this on your schedules and invite your friends and family!

Christmas Child Boxes are being prepared and collected in the next three weeks.  If you would like to participate, see the enclosed flyer.  All boxes must be turned in, wrapped [cover and box separately] by November 20 in order to be included in the shipping crates overseas.

Advent will begin on Sunday, November 30, and go through Christmas Eve.   We will commemorate each week of Advent through readings and candle lighting.  If you would like to be involved, please see Ms. Alane in the next few days.

Fall Bible Studies and Small Groups are forming now.  Pastors Mike and Matthew are filling their schedules, so please let them know if you would like to have a study in your home or would like to attend one in your neighborhood.  We would like as many people as possible to be involved in a group this year.

Thank you to all who drove,  officiated and otherwise assisted with the Bible Quiz Day in Victorville yesterday.  Helpers were: Erica Harbison, Michelle Busby, Tari Thorp, Raquel Loza, Joy Harbison and Mary Ward.  We appreciate all that you did, Ladies!  The day couldn’t have happened without you!  The next quiz will be in Yorba Linda on January 10, 2009.
